Scam Alert - Dont click on link about Video of Bloodiest Fight Ever Between John Cena and Undertaker

It appears that Facebook scams involving wrestlers are a major success. That’s why crooks have launched a scheme that leverages an alleged video of the bloodiest fight ever between Undertaker and John Cena. Since, on previous occasions when we wrote about such hoaxes, many of our readers believed that the celebrity involved was really dead or injured, we want to clarify that all of this is a scam. No one is dead or injured. Instead, cybercriminals are using the false story to lure users to a website to earn money. Hoax Slayer provides a sample of the message circulating on Facebook: “THE UNDERTAKER of WWE suffered from a severe head injury after the Hell in a cell. The Undertaker was rushed in ICU right after the BL00DIEST fight ever happened on WWE. The fight match was BANNED on TV due to violence. Watch the original vide0 from WWE on h0w The bl00dy fight ends with Undertaker together with J0hn Cena. (f0r 18yrs & ab0ve) -->[Link]” Curiously, this ...

Anton Vickerman, owner of Surfthechannel, jailed for 4 years

The man behind Surfthechannel.com, a site that offered links to websites streaming copyright protected content has been sentenced to four years in jail. Found guilty for fraud and facilitating copyright infringement, 38 year old Anton Vickerman, designed the site and took others onboard to help source movies and TV shows that were available for online streaming. Surfthechannel hosted links to the media, working as a sort of database for movies and TV shows, in a similar fashion to the TV-Links website, whose owner David Rock, is still legally embattled . Arrested in 2008, Mr Vickerman was said to have generated over £35,000 a month in advertising revenue while running the site (according to the BBC ), which only ceased operation at the commence of the trial earlier this year. The indictment was spearheaded by both the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Federation against Copyright Theft (FACT). The latter of those organisations was very pleased wit...

Microsoft Windows Live Messenger blocks Pirate Bay links

If you want freedom of speech on your instant messaging platform, you better turn away from Microsoft. The software giant’s Windows Live Messenger service has apparently begun blocking all links to online piracy haven The Pirate Bay. If such a link is sent through an IM, this message is received: “The link you tried to send was blocked because it was reported as unsafe.” The Pirate Bay has become a one-stop shop for users who want to download illegal copies of TV shows, movies, music files, digital books, and more. Those with a 3D printer can even pirate actual physical objects through the site’s collection of 3D printable files. Of course, because of its reputation, references to The Pirate Bay are blocked on all kinds of online forums, discussion boards, and the like. But to ban people from linking to it in private instant message conversations is quite a new step. In addition, classifying The Pirate Bay as “unsafe” isn’t really even accurate, as going to the s...

O "ţeapă" fierbinte pe Facebook: "Cine ţi-a vizitat profilul"

O "ţeapă" fierbinte pe Facebook: "Cine ţi-a vizitat profilul". Curiozitatea a omorât pisica, apoi a virusat calculatorul.
