International hacktivist organization staged a cyber attack against ministries in Turkey late yesterday. The group made a DDOS attack to the websites belonging to ministries of justice, interior and foreign affairs and websites belonging to the police department. A special team from Turkey's Telecommunications Directorate protected the websites from the attacks. The attacks lasted for two hours, during which none of the targeted websites were affected. An Internet outage that occurred last night in Ankara and Istanbul, meanwhile, had nothing to do with the attacks and was due to a fiber cable installation carried out by Türk Telekom, reports said. Seven people were arrested because of their alleged membership in the RedHack group. RedHack commented, "The arrested people are not our members." and announced to proceed more radical from now on. Seven people were arrested on the grounds of their alleged membership in RedHack. They were part of a group of 17 persons in total who were taken into police custody during operations against RedHack carried out in eight different provinces in the beginning of this week. RedHack made the headlines in the end of February when they hacked databases of the Ankara Police Directorate and POLNET (Police Net). RedHack claimed to have five members and that none of them was among the people taken into police custody. The hackers group said that the people in custody were young internet users who shared news related to the hackers group on their facebook accounts.
