Initiativa are o pagina dedicata pe Google si indeamna pe toata lumea sa o impartaseasca prin Google+, Facebook sau Twitter. Fiecare poate sa contribuie la propozitia “The internet is power to…” cu ceea ce considera el. Mai multe puteti sa vedeti pe pagina oficiala . Am aflat recent ca Google a pornit o initiativa pentru libertatea internetului, ca raspuns la SOPA si PIPA, numita “Take Action”. În cadrul Parlamentului European, din cei 736 de membri au votat 654.  Voturile pentru au fost 306, voturile împotriva 322. Din cei 32 de reprezentanţi ai României, 15 au votat pentru, 14 împotrivă, doi s-au abţinut, iar doi au fost absenţi. Cei doi parlamentari absenţi au fost George Becali şi Victor Boştinaru, iar alţi doi s-au abţinut: Corina Creţu şi Norica Nicolai. Just Say ‘No’ to ACTA If you thought SOPA and PIPA were bad, let us introduce you to their Big Brother, ACTA. The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, which has already been signed by several countries, poses a dangerous threat to the inherent freedom and openess of the Internet. Under ACTA, ISPs and websites will be given more power to track what we do online, while forcing them to turn over our information and reporting our activity to the authorities -- all in the name of copyright protection! While we respect the rights of creators, ACTA's ill-conceived provisions will have chilling effects on free speech everywhere. The European Parliament still has to approve ACTA for it to go into effect around the world. Pentru ca FBI inchide site-uri de file sharing si se pregatesc legi dure de cenzura a internetului grupul Anonymous s-a hotarat sa riposteze. Asa ca a atacat si dat jos site-urile FBI, RIAA , MPAA si Universal Music Group . Si grupul spune ca asta nu e finalul, ca mai urmeaza. Mai jos un filmulet adresat organelor de justitie din America. SOPA si PIPA (Stop Online Piracy Act si Protect IP Act) sunt doua proiecte de lege elaborate la presiunile (financiare) ale caselor de discuri si studiourilor de filme care, sub pretextul ca lupta impotriva pirateriei, duceau Internet-ul intr-o noua era a cenzurii. Si asta pentru ca tot controlul se facea la nivel de provider de net. Acestia, de teama unor amenzi consistente, erau obligati sa taie accesul oricariu site sau utilizator ce era acuzat de incalcarea drepturilor de autor. Si asta fara a se pronunta vreo sentinta sau a se face vreo investigatie. Acuzarea era suficienta. Iar masura se aplica nu numai celor ce incalcau direct, ci si celor ce faceau orice trimitere sau mentiune a unui site de acest gen. Aceste legi urmau sa fie votate in congresul Statelor Unite saptamana viitoare, insa protestul de zilele trecute ce a cuprins intreg Internet-ul, in cadrul caruia peste 10 000 de site-uri si-au suspendat activitatea, si peste sapte milioane de utilizatori au semnat o petitie ...
