Lineage II: Goddess of Destruction - The Glory Days Patch Notes

Dual Class

Dual Class Re-Awakening

Characters can now re-Awaken their Dual Class. Simply visit Raina in Talking Island Village while on your Dual Class and trade in your class and class cloak for the new ones. When re-Awakened your Dual Class level is reset to 85, your old Dual Class’ skills are deleted, and the appropriate 3rd class skills for your new Dual Class are given.

Dual Class Skills

Dual Class skill certificates allow you to customize your character with special Dual Class-only skills. Certificates can be obtained upon reaching levels 85, 90, 95, and 99 through the certificate NPC Trandon. Trandon can also reset your character’s Dual Class certificate skills.

Subclass

A character must now be level 85 in order to get the quest that unlocks the Subclass ability. See the Quests section for information on the new Subclass quest and for details on the removal of the old Subclass quest.

With the launch of Glory Days, all characters’ previously-obtained Subclass Certificate Skills are reset, to make way for the newly improved skill versions. A single Subclass Skill Certificate is the price for each of the following skills:

Kamael characters can now choose the Inspector class as their first Subclass, instead of needing to go through the process of leveling another Subclass beforehand.

Vitality

The Vitality system has reverted to being character-based instead of account based, but even better; your character's main class, Dual Class, and Subclass each have a unique Vitality pool and weekly Vitality item limit!
The consumption speed of Vitality points when gaining XP is increased.
Keep in mind that, as of Goddess of Destruction launch, having Vitality points does create a drop rate bonus, but not having Vitality points creates a drop rate penalty. To achieve the most, have at least a few Vitality points on your character or class at all times.

Mentor System

When Mentors and Mentees switch between class modes (main class, Dual Class, Subclass) they can now retain the following skill buffs and similar runes:
  • Mentor’s Knight’s Harmony
  • Mentor’s Warrior’s Harmony
  • Mentor’s Wizard’s Harmony
  • Mentor’s Mentee’s Appreciation
  • Mentee’s Mentor Summon
Graduated Mentees can become Mentors in less time than before; Mentoring contracts can be created just one day after Awakening. If a Mentoring contract is canceled the Mentor can make a new contract after only two days instead of one week.

 PK System

The Reputation and Player Kill (PK) systems are revamped to protect players from senseless PKing while still allowing Chaotic characters to redeem themselves in a timely fashion.

 Reputation Score Changes

The maximum Reputation score is now 500, at which time the character’s name becomes green. With the launch of Glory Days, all character Reputation scores over 500 will be reset to 500, and those below 0 will be reset to 0.
A character’s Reputation score now decreases much more sharply after PK count reaches 4.
When a character with positive Reputation PKs another player:
  • Reputation resets to 0 if the player had PK count of 0 beforehand.
  • Reputation decreases below 0 if the player had a PK count of 1 or more beforehand.
New methods allow characters to increase their Reputation score:
  • When a character’s Reputation is negative, they can still acquire XP, SP, and Reputation up to a score of 0 by hunting monsters. Reputation can also be gained up to a score of 0 through deaths that involve the loss of XP. (If no XP is lost upon death, no Reputation is gained from the death.)
  • When a character’s Reputation score is 0 or higher (positive), killing a Chaotic character increases the Reputation score further.

 Item Drop Penalty

The item destruction penalty from the days of yore returns: when a Chaotic character with negative Reputation and a PK count of 4 or higher dies, an item destruction penalty applies even to augmented items. (A character with normal Reputation is not affected by the penalty.) The change of item destruction, and the number of items to be destroy, increases according to the character’s PK count, to a maximum of five items destroyed upon a single death.

 Reputation Penalty

The Reputation Penalty is a debuff that increases in intensity proportionally to the character’s PK count. A character with a PK count of 3 or less can only receive a Stage 1 Reputation Penalty, but when the PK count reaches 4 and higher the penalty’s intensity increases proportionally to the character’s Reputation score.

  • The issue of a Mentor sometimes being able to set up another contract before an existing contract has ended is corrected.
  • When the Mentee is disconnected, the problem of the Mentor receiving the Mentee’s Appreciation is corrected.
  • The problem of a connected Mentee not being confirmed in the Mentor’s mentoring UI is corrected.

Clans and Clan Halls

The new Clan Cloak is added to the game. It can be purchased from the merchant NPC in an auctionable or contestable clan hall, or from the Clan Requests Manager NPC, and can be used by members occupying a clan hall. When a clan registers an image for their Clan Mark it automatically appears on their Clan Cloak. (A Clan Mark must be a 256x256 24-bit or 32-bit TGA file or BMP file.) If there is no Clan Mark registered the cloak appears plain.
The following items are added to the clan hall NPC’s sales list. One item is purchasable per hour.
  • Fog of Blood District Teleport Scroll
  • Isle of Souls Harbor Teleport Scroll
  • Ruins of Ye Sagira Teleport Scroll (teleports you to Hadel)
  • Guillotine Fortress Teleport Scroll
  • Parnassus Teleport Scroll
  • Forbidden Gateway Teleport Scroll
Iss Enchanter buffs can now be purchased from clan hall NPCs:
  • Horn Melody
  • Drum Melody
  • Pipe Organ Melody
  • Guitar Melody
  • Harp Melody
  • Lute Melody
  • Knight’s Harmony
  • Warrior’s Harmony
  • Wizard’s Harmony
The HP and MP Recovery rates, rent prices, and maintenance fees for all auctionable and contestable clan halls is raised.
The Clan Advent skill is no longer canceled when entering an instanced dungeon other than the Olympiad.
The Clan Flag skill can now only be learned while the character is on their main class, but it can also now be shared between the main, dual and subclasses.
New teleport routes are added from all auctionable and contestable clan halls.
All Dion clan halls are upgraded from C-Grade to B-Grade. All related auction, deposit, and functions of the clan halls are altered to match the new grade rating.

Contestable Clan Halls

The siege methods for the Fortress of Resistance, the Fortress of the Dead, and Devastated Castle are changed in that the battles for ownership take place in instanced dungeons, each with a different set of requirements for winning the clan hall. Each instanced dungeon lasts 1 hour; players are withdrawn from the instance if the battle goes over time. When a clan wins rights to the clan hall they must confirm or refuse ownership by speaking to the clan hall NPC. If the winning clan opts out of ownership rights to the clan hall, the clan hall is then occupied by NPCs for the next two weeks.
Multiple clans participating in a single clan hall siege remain confidential to each other, but anonymous system messages inform the clans when one of the clans has won the clan hall.
Three new items can also be obtained in these instanced dungeons, respective to each dungeon’s raid boss: Nurka’s Belt, Lidia’s Belt, and Gustav’s Belt. Each item has the following stats: Increases damage by 5%, weight capacity by 12,800, and inventory slots by 18, and decreases damage received by 5%.
In accordance with these changes, some of the clan hall areas are changed from battlegrounds to being normal hunting fields.

 Fortress of Resistance

The instanced dungeon can be entered on Friday of the relevant week from 21:00 to 22:00 (server time). Entrance is gained by speaking to the messenger NPC outside the clan hall, or from the clan leader using their new Summon Brakel skill. A maximum of 14 players can enter.
The clan that kills Bloody Lord Nurka the fastest wins the rights to that clan hall. The winning clan must then confirm or refuse ownership by speaking to Brakel the Chooser.

 Fortress of the Dead

The instanced dungeon can be entered on Thursday of the relevant week from 21:00 to 22:00 (server time). Entrance is gained by speaking to the messenger NPC outside the clan hall, or from the clan leader using their new Summon Jacquard skill. A maximum of 14 players can enter.
The clan that kills Giselle von Hellmann, Alfred von Hellmann, and Lidia von Hellmann in order and the fastest wins the rights to that clan hall. The winning clan must then confirm or refuse ownership by speaking to Jacquard the Chooser.

 Devastated Castle

The instanced dungeon can be entered on Friday of the relevant week from 21:00 to 22:00 (server time). Entrance is gained by speaking to the messenger NPC outside the clan hall, or from the clan leader using their new Summon Loken skill. A maximum of 14 players can enter.
The Devastated Castle instanced dungeon involves intensive strategy: there are three inner strongholds which must all be occupied, as well as a boss monster that must be defeated, in order to win the battle. A stronghold can become occupied by using a Scroll: Stronghold Siege (10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 –second duration), which is dropped from subordinate monsters in the area. A scroll occupies the targeted stronghold for the amount of seconds detailed in the scroll type.
  • Transportation Stronghold: This stronghold moves from one side of the castle to the castle walls on the opposite site. When it reaches the walls the stronghold reverts to unoccupied status even if there is time left from using a Stronghold Scroll. In order to keep this stronghold from reaching the walls clan members must use certain skills to impede its movement.
  • Attack Stronghold: This stronghold must be continuously attacked in order to stay occupied. Whenever it’s quickly-regenerating HP reaches 100% it reverts to unoccupied status.
  • Demolished Throne Stronghold: This stronghold can only be occupied for 3 minutes maximum.
The clan that occupies all three bases, and kills Gustav the fastest, wins the rights to the clan hall. The winning clan must then confirm or refuse ownership by speaking to Loken the Chooser.

Clan Wars

To declare a clan war, a clan must now be level 5 or higher with 15 or more clan members. A single clan can declare war on up to 30 other clans at the same time. As before, there no limit on how many declarations a single clan can receive.
Before, a clan war would start once both clans declare war mutually, or else the war would start automatically after a 3-day grace period. Now, clans are no longer forced into a clan war, but hostility counts as acceptance: if both clans declare war mutually, or if 5 members of the declaring clan are killed by the targeted clan, the clan war begins. The clan that had war declared upon it can keep track of their PK count, and the amount of time remaining on a declaration invitation, in the War Info tab of the clan window.
A war declaration can be canceled by the declaring clan at the cost of 5,000 Clan Points, but it may also time-out if the declaration does not receive a response after 1 week.
Members of a clan that has had war declared upon it now see an identifying clan war mark on the members of the declaring clan.
During a clan war, Clan Fame being transferred due to PK between clan members now displays as a screen message and as a system message, detailing the clan, character name, and score.
A clan war ends 3 weeks after it begins, or else 1 week after it begins if the enemy clan admits defeat.
With the changes to clan warfare, all clan wars in process at the time of the Glory Days launch are reset.

Bug Fixes

  • The problem of a black spot appearing when the clan leader changes the Captain of the Royal Guard or the Knight Captain is corrected.
  • When the dismiss button is pressed, the Member Info tab now closes.
  • Fixed a problem where clans could not advance to levels 6 or 7 via normal means.
  • The problem of a 10-day limit penalty applying to a character that cancels clan disbandment and creates a new clan as the leader is fixed.
  • The Blood Queen monster now drops the Proof of Blood item without issue.
  • The issue of the clan members’ system message displaying incorrectly when an Academy member graduates is fixed.
  • When a clan war is proclaimed or ends, the problem of the clan war mark on enemy clan members’ pets and servitors not changing is fixed.
  • The system message stating the requirements for when a popular edition clan hall cannot be submitted for auction has been changed.
  • Fixed a graphical issue that caused some parts of the Rune provisional clan hall decorations to appear dark.
  • Fixed the issue in which the competition for the Provisional Clan Halls would not be displayed by the auctioneer NPC in charge.
  • A typo in the Provisional Clan Hall Auctioneer’s auction period information display is corrected.
  • The problem of being able to bid on the same type of Provisional Clan Hall concurrently is corrected.

Clan Requests

 Synopsis

In order to combat darkness, the King of Aden Amadeo Cadmus is raising money to fund the military and mercenary groups and requested the help of the Dwarf Elder Council to achieve this end. The clan request process is a policy instituted by the Iron Gate Guild to give strength and power to smaller clans per the Dwarf Elder Council’s instructions.
GDaysPN_Clan-Request-NPC.jpgClans can now level up easily by completing requests made by the Dwarf Guilds in Lineage II. Clan Requests allow clan members to contribute to the success of the clan whether they are hunting along or working together. First, the clan must earn points by hunting (together or not), and then must spend the points on entrance into an instanced challenge area. Upon completing the instance the clan receives badges from the Dwarf Guilds, which can be spent on useful items or on leveling up the clan (up to level 7). Only full clan members can participate in the Clan Request system.
The clan leader can start and manage the Clan Request system through the Clan Request Manager NPC Request Info button of the Clan window, which has replaced the End War button. A clan can only work on one guild request at a time, and may only complete an instanced challenge and earn badges once per day. If a clan level 5 or higher completes a request it can get Clan Reputation in addition to badges. If the clan leader changes the request partway through the Clan Request Points accumulated are reset.
When you choose to start a request from the Bronze Key, Black Anvil, or Golden Wheel guilds you are actually merely obtaining the ability to accumulate points to put towards it. Only once you reach the required amount of Clan Request Points can you “receive” the request and perform the instanced challenge that earns you the badges.

Earning Personal and Clan Request Points

A clan member can earn Personal Request Points through hunting. An on-screen message helps you keep track of them.
You obtain points from monsters most efficiently when you hunt monsters very close to your character’s level. If the monster is 3 or more levels from your level, you may see fewer points accumulated. If you hunt monsters 11 or more levels difference to you no points are gained at all. Points can only be obtained from regular hunting monsters; raid bosses do not award points.
You can gain up to 100 Personal Request Points, at which point no more can be obtained. At any time you can trade in your Personal Request Points for Clan Request points in order to help the clan meet the requests’ goals. Clan Request Points are applied at different rates according to the clan’s level. You don’t have to go back to town to do this; simply open the Clan window, click on Request Info, then Clan Request Menu, and then Add Up Points. You can continue to hunt and gain Personal Request Points as long as you don’t reach the maximum in Personal Request Points, and as long as the clan doesn’t reach its maximum number of Clan Request Points.

Clan members must trade their Personal Quest Points in for Clan Request Points until the maximum is reached. The maximum number of Clan Request Points needed depends on the clan’s level:

Completing a Clan Request

When the maximum number of Clan Request Points is reached, speak to the Clan Request Manager and click on Receive Request. Choose between the 7-player version or the 14-player version. Doing this effectively purchases the Clan Request, spending your Clan Request Points and resetting them to zero.

A Clan Request is actually an item that summons a new NPC that manages your clan’s entrance into an instanced event. The summoning item lasts for 24 hours and can only be used once per day.
Summon the NPC and speak to her to teleport you and your clan mates to the event location. Other clan members will see a notification prompt on their screen asking if they want to join the event. When a member accepts the invitation they are teleported into the event location. There, speak to the Clan Request Assistant NPC to equip yourself and clan members with a special item that can only be used in this event.

When ready, speak to the Manager NPC again and click Begin Request Activity. All buffs are removed when you enter the instance. Once inside you can speak to the NPC to get your event-related weapon, learn more about your task, and start the activity.

The activity with the Multi Hammer involves having to hit the sleeping milk cows and keep them awake lest the Greedy Mahum Chef try to knock them out for their dinner! The Mahum are attracted to cows that are awake. You and your clan members must keep as many cows awake as possible in order to gain points and complete the instance.

When the event is over you automatically receive the awarded amount of badges in your inventory. Clan members are returned to their original locations in the world by speaking to the Assistant NPC or by being forced out of the instance when it shuts after two minutes.

Other Competitions Changes

Castle Sieges

The siege battle headquarters and advanced headquarters are improved. They now greatly increase HP, P. Def., and M. Def. The cost for summoning is now 300 Gemstones B for a regular headquarters and 600 Gemstones B for an advanced headquarters.

A clan that does not own a castle can now register for and participate in sieges for up to 9 castles (all of them) instead of being limited to one per siege session. When the clan that is registered that multiple sieges wins a certain castle, the sieges for the other castles are canceled, and the clan can then only participate in the siege warfare for their castle.

Characters registered for a siege no longer display the defending or besieging mark when they are not on the battlefield.

The defending-besieging relationship is applied independently for each castle. This means that temporary alliances can be made per castle for the clans registered to siege them.
  • For example, if multiple clans register to sieges of both Aden Castle and Goddard Castle, those clans can form a temporary alliance for both castle sieges. Alliances targeted to siege a certain castle remain in place until the castle’s lord changes.

Castle walls can now be destroyed more easily when using siege weapons.

The Ward of Life and Flame Control Towers in castles now have increased HP, P. Def., and M. Def.
Castle-specific cloaks are added to the game. Each cloak can be used by members of a clan in possession of the respective castle. It can be purchased from the castle NPC’s sales list.
The HP and MP Recovery, and Resurrection rates, and the maintenance costs for each castle are increased.

Augmenting and Enchanting

Head Accessories and Pendants

Head accessory pendant options have been consolidated so that a single stat pendant can apply its boost to all of the available head accessories, instead of needing a stat- and accessory-specific item for each.

The effected head accessories are: Rabbit Ears, Raccoon Ears, Cat Ears, Romantic Chapeau, Angel Circlet, Demon Circlet, Pirate’s Eye Patch, Outlaw’s Eye Patch, Eye Patch, Party Hat, Refined Angel Ring, and Refined Devil Horns.

Additional content has been added to explain when a pendant is equipped, the next hair accessory item’s equip slot being changed: Pirate's Eyepatch, Outlaw's Eyepatch, and Eye Patch.
The available pendant options include STR, DEX, CON, MEN, INT, WIT, Critical Rate, Critical Damage, P. Def., M. Def., Evasion, P. Atk., M. Atk., and Accuracy.

With this change, head accessory pendants obtained before Glory Days can be exchanged for new pendants via the Aden Reconstruction NPCs, Eeny in Talking Island Village and Moe in Giran.

Old crafting materials can be traded in for the new kind by speaking to the Aden Reconstruction Society member Eeny in Talking Island Village or Moe in Giran.
The number of Tauti’s Fragments needed in order to craft a Tauti weapon is changed to 10.

Zombie Attack!

The Zombie event is not like other campaigns: it does not reward Marks of the King or Marks of the Lord, and it runs on a separate timer and notification system.

Zombies are spreading their disease by biting civilians around town. Behind it all is Alestina the Zombie Shaman, who seeks to gain power by impressing Shilen with her dark arts. Imbuing willing adventurers with her magic, she has given them the ability to spread her gift of pestilence. In Alestina’s path stands Seira the Exorcist, who has long been an opposing force to the Zombie Shaman. Spreading her gift to adventurers who stand to defend the town, she has erected the Guardian Crystal in the town to suppress the disease.

Process

In this event zombies will invade some towns for a certain period of time. You can choose to fight against the zombies, or to become a zombie yourself and spread the infection. Zombies must infect humans in order to increase their numbers, while humans must cure infected humans and attack zombies to slow the spread of the disease. (By “Human” we really mean all the six character races; you play as yourself unless you become a zombie.)
  • The event starts randomly but it can happen up to 8 times per day, with increased chance of occurring during peak hours. It is announced with on-screen notification 30 minutes before it starts.
  • The event takes place in one of these towns at random: Aden, Rune, Talking Island Village, or Gludio. The two event NPCs (Alestina and Seira) spawn in each of the towns. A Guardian Crystal will spawn near Seira in the center of the town that will be attacked.
  • You will see a notification icon appear, similar to a regular campaign notification. Click on the icon to be signed up, teleported to the event location, and given event items. When you are signed-up you are randomly assigned to one of the two factions. If you’re assigned to be a human defender you are teleported to the center of town where the Guardian Crystal is. If you’re assigned to be a zombie attacker you are teleported to the town entrance where the zombies spawn.
  • Zombies spawn at the entrance(s) to the town and wander inwards to infect characters and NPCs, and attempt to destroy the Guardian Crystal. If a player character is infected they could turn into a zombie if they’re not cured. If a NPC, for example a Grocer NPC, is infected, they do not transform and join the horde, but they are under an infection debuff.
  • Use the Consecrated Demon Eliminator event item to purify zombies. Use the Nevit’s Holy Water Flask event item to cure infected humans.
  • Towards the end of the event, the Festering Zombie Lord boss monster spawns with the other zombies and enters the town to wreak havoc on player characters and to try to destroy the Guardian Crystal.
  • The event ends when one of the following conditions happens:
    • The maximum event score is reached. (You can watch this in the event progress interface window on-screen.)
    • The Guardian Crystal is destroyed.
    • 30 minutes pass without reaching neither the maximum score nor the Guardian Crystal being destroyed.
  • When the event is over all characters and town NPCs are de-zombified and zombie monsters are removed.

Zombie Monsters
Zombie Character Transformation
Festering Zombie Lord
Festering-Zombie.png
Player-Zombie.png
Festering-Zombie-Lord.png
These zombies are NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) run by the game. This is what a player character looks like when they are transformed as a zombie. He spawns in the last 10 minutes, or when the score reaches the final 10% before completion. He focuses only on attacking player characters and the Guardian Crystal (he does not attack NPCs).
Skill: Zombie Bite: Debuff that creates a zombie after 2 minutes if left uncured. This can be used on player characters as well as NPCs. If a human is bitten by a zombie they must be cured within 2 minutes or else he or she will turn into a zombie. If you become a zombie, your score as a human will be reset and you must start accumulating points anew as a zombie.
Skill: Zombie Leap: Dash skill. Zombies may be slow, but they can move fast when it counts! Skill: Zombie King’s Festering Storm: AoE debuff that decreases Spd.
Skill: Weaken Crystal: Decreases the Guardian Crystal’s HP by 5%. Skill: Zombie Hide: Hide skill

  • Einhasad-Authority.jpg Einhasad’s Authority: Creates a ring of light around you that damages zombies.

Removed Quests

The Pay Your Respects campaign is removed.
The pre-revamp Pagan's Temple quests, Truth Beyond the Gate, Through the Gates Once More, and Seekers of the Holy Grail, are removed.

 Subclass Quests

With the addition of the new Subclass quest and the Subclass required level being raised to 85, the following quests are removed:
  • Fate’s Whisper
  • Mimir’s Elixir
  • Seeds of Chaos

Characters that have these quests active when Glory Days launches can complete the quest through the News Informer NPC in the following conditions:
  • If the Fate’s Whisper quest is active but not completed, 8 Dimensional Diamonds will be given instead of the Star of Destiny item. Characters that have already completed the quest and have the Star of Destiny item will receive 8 Dimensional Diamonds, and the Star of Destiny will be removed.
  • If a non-Awakened character of 85 or lower is on the last step of the Mimir’s Elixir or Seeds of Chaos quest, the quest can be completed but a Subclass cannot be selected. If the character in this quest step is Awakened, they can receive the quest reward and choose a new Subclass.

Isle of SoulsGDaysPN_Isle-of-Souls.jpg

Recommended Level Zone Type
92-96 Solo or small party hunting

The Black Anvil Guild Golems and Dwarf Soldiers are in constant battle against Mother Nornil’s cloned Spiculas and the Golem Corps of Dr. Chaos throughout the Isle of Souls.

The Isle of Souls is revamped with new monsters as a hunting ground for solo players or small parties between levels 92 and 96. The monsters and environment provide opportunities for strategic combat:
  • If you kill a Spicula that a Black Anvil Guild Golem is fighting, that Golem will temporarily become an ally and help you fight other monsters.
  • Sometimes a Self-Destruct Golem will appear next to a character and use a self-destruction skill. When this happens, any allied Golems present become enemies. Nearby monsters are also affected by the self-destruction skill, but they are rendered helpless.
  • In some places, Spicula cloning devices are constantly spawning monsters. Sometimes, allied soldiers and a Cannon Golem may appear near the cloning device to help you fight. A Cannonball Golem can be of great help when hunting monsters.
  • The roaming Gigantic Golem raid boss presents a surprising challenge to any that cross his path.

Recommended Level Zone Type
98-99 Solo or party hunting

Shilen awoke with the Seal of Disaster. In order to complete the Great Sacrifice, she has begun moving the four demon lords of hell: Halisha, Malloc, Triol, and Bremmnon. Under Shilen’s orders, Helan’s leader Triol has ordered his subordinates Andreas van Halter, Jacuques Doom, and others, into the world to prepare for the Great Sacrifice and his own transfer to the material realm. Jacques Doom has started churning out bloodsucking insects while Andreas van Halter produces pagans and spreads them into the heart of Rune.

Upon killing Cocoon Destroyer, a Wisp may randomly spawn to restore characters’ HP and MP, and to provide characters with a buff that increases P. Atk. and M. Atk.
