IBM Research Website Hacked and Defaced by KHS

The official IBM Research website (researcher.ibm.com), a domain dedicated to projects and publications, has been taken offline after a group called Kosova Hacker Security (KHS) has managed to breach and deface it.

The Hacker News has caught a glimpse of the defaced website and reports that the members of KHS have leveraged SQL Injection and remote code execution vulnerabilities to penetrate the site’s defenses.

“KHS ownZ this b0x! ~ nobody will stop us!” the hackers wrote on the affected webpage.

Other than that, they didn’t state their reasons for targeting IBM, although it may be possible that this was a way to show off their skills.

At press time, the site was still down, most likely with its administrators trying to figure out what allowed the hackers to gain access.
